CURT BYRUM
Curt Byrum is an analyst for The Golf Channel's coverage of the Nationwide and Canadian Tours. A PGA Tour veteran since 1982, Byrum captured the Hardee's Golf Classic title in 1989 as well as Nationwide Tour victories in 1993 and 1999. In his more than twenty years as a professional golfer, Byrum has accumulated career earnings that top $1.5 million.
An excellent high school athlete in his native Onida, South Dakota, Curt was an all-state player in both football and basketball. He and his brother, Tom, learned to play golf on a nine-hole course they used to mow. After attending college in New Mexico, both Curt and his brother became professionals on the PGA Tour. Curt enjoyed his best years on the PGA Tour in the late 1980's before being hampered by an elbow injury. He still plays competitively when his schedule allows; in 2004 Curt played in three Nationwide Tour events. He made the cut in all three events and finished T9 at the BellSouth Panama Championship.
Curt Byrum lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife, Cyndi and children, Christina and Jake. His son Jake has caddied for him at Nationwide Tour events. Curt maintains his zero handicap while playing at his home course of Desert Mountain Golf Club.
This year, Curt will continue his work in the 18th Tower for The Golf Channel and will also be making appearances at corporate golf outings and charity events throughout the country.
