STEVE BARTKOWSKI
Steve Bartkowski was born in Des Moines Iowa in 1952. His family moved to Santa Clara, California in 1962. After graduation from high school, he chose from over 100 scholarship offers to attend the University of California at Berkeley. He made All American in both Baseball and Football. In 1975 he was the #1 Draft Choice in the NFL and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons. He was their starting Quarterback for the following 11 Seasons. He was the NFL's highest rated Quarterback for three years and he earned All-Pro honors for his efforts in the 1980 and 1981 campaigns. He was the most valuable player in the NFC in 1980. Steve led the Falcons to their first ever play-off game in 1978 and again in 1980 and 1982. Steve still holds virtually all the passing records for the Atlanta Falcons (Touchdowns, Total Yardage, etc.) Steve played his last season in the NFL for the Los Angeles Rams before 6 operations on his right knee forced him to retire in 1987. Since retiring from Pro-Football, Steve has used his knowledge of the game in the broadcast booth as a television color analyst.
Steve hosted the popular Outdoor Television Series on TNN "Backroad Adventures with Steve Bartkowski'. The series provided a powerful theme of respect and concern for wildlife resources and a strong commitment to conservation. He was also the host of a top rated Outdoor Television Series called "Suzuki's Great Outdoors with Steve Bartkowski" on ESPN for three years.
Steve is an accomplished golfer, with a scratch handicap. He is on tour with the Celebrity Players Golf Tour, a nationally televised Golf Tour featuring celebrities such as Michael Jordan, Dan Marino, Mario Lemieux, and John Elway. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Tour.
Steve's business background is in Business Development. He is proud to be affiliated with DPR, Inc., the Nationally renowned General Contractor based in Redwood City, California.
Personal: Steve enjoys the outdoors, golf, and public speaking. He serves on the Board of Directors of several charitable organizations Steve and his wife, Sandee live in the Atlanta area with their two sons, Philip and Peter.
