LEN DAWSON NFL Man-of-the-Year
In a recent interview, Len Dawson, former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback said, "I'm one sports fan talking to another. The exciting part is that I have access to a lot more inside information. I'd be lying if I said I didn't love my job!"
Kansas City's Len Dawson is one of the most respected sports figures in America. Though not a native son, Dawson made Kansas City his home after he joined the Chiefs in 1963. He quarterbacked the home team until he retired in 1975.

In 1966, while still playing for the Chiefs, Len Dawson became Sports Director for KMBC 9 NEWS. In addition to his responsibilities at Channel 9, Dawson currently hosts "Inside The NFL" on HBO. Over the years, Dawson has offered his expertise to NBC and numerous Kansas City radio stations as a commentator.
Len Dawson is active in the community and focuses much of his energy on charity work. He has raised money for countless charitable organizations, especially those that help needy children. The Variety Club Telethon, which airs each year on KMBC-TV, is one of Dawson's personal favorites. He also hosts the Len Dawson Celebrity Golf Classic which benefits the Truman Medical Center.
Len Dawson is married and has two grown children. He and his family live in Kansas City.
