Jennifer Mills joined The Golf Channel at its inception in 1995 and contributed to its overwhelming success as the cable network grew from zero viewers to over 90 million households worldwide. It was Jennifer’s passion for golf and winning personality that helped her land what she described as her "dream job" for the network. Jennifer served as Anchor and Reporter for Golf Central, the CableACE award-winning nightly newscast, and was also a creator and the host of College Central. A very good player in her own right, Jennifer reported regularly from the PGA Tour and has covered all of golf’s major championships and the Ryder Cup matches. At the end of 2005, Mills announced her decision to leave the Anchor Desk at The Golf Channel. "The last 11 years have been wonderful and I’m proud of what we’ve done at The Golf Channel," she said. "We’ve left the door open for other opportunities, and I’m looking forward to new roles in the future."
A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Mills graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Wake Forest University, where she was an academic scholar, accomplished basketball player, and Homecoming Queen. She began her television career as a sports and news photographer at an NBC affiliate in Winston-Salem, and quickly landed her first on-air job as a reporter/anchor within a year. Since then, Jennifer has accumulated more than 20 years experience in broadcast and print journalism. Prior to joining The Golf Channel, Mills worked with ESPN, The Travel Channel, and the nationally syndicated show P.M. Magazine. Among her accomplishments, Jennifer received Golfweek Magazine’s "Top 40 Under 40" for her outstanding contributions in the golf industry and the IRIS Award for outstanding news reporting.
Throughout her career as a golf commentator, Jennifer has been privileged to meet and work with many of golf’s greatest players, instructors, and legends. With this unique insight into the PGA Tour combined with her outgoing personality, Jennifer Mills has become a refreshing voice in the world of professional golf. In addition to her exciting new roles in other broadcast venues, Jennifer is excited about the opportunity to continue to do speaking engagements and attend corporate golf outings throughout the year. Jennifer resides in Orlando with her two children. When she is not working, she enjoys golf, gardening, reading and being a mom.
