For better than nine years, Rich Lerner has been a mainstay at The Golf Channel, where his essays have punctuated coverage of golf's major championships and several Ryder Cups.
From "Tiger Woods, Millenium Man" to "Courage on the Fairways" to "New York Stories," Rich's long form features and in-depth specials have been lauded by viewers and critics for their moving and revealing narratives.
In addition to his role as the network's essayist and lead reporter, Rich also handles play-by-play for The Champions Tour, and anchors coverage of The Solheim Cup and The Tavistock Cup.
Rich has also interviewed some of the game's greatest legends, including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Greg Norman on Golf Talk Live.
Called by famed golf writer Lorne Rubenstein "a reporter and essayist of distinction," Rich was honored in 1999 with The Women's Sports Foundation Journalism Award for his documentary, "Se Ri Pak, A Champion's Journey." His work also helped The Golf Channel land the prestigious Cable Ace Award in 1997. Rich is a member of The Golf Writer's Association of America and is a contributing writer for The Golf Channel.com.
Rich earned a degree in communications from Temple University. He recently received The Hands of Peace Award for his continuing efforts to curb violence against women and children in his hometown of Orlando, Florida.
